Members of Warhawk Catholic have lots of opportunities to volunteer in the community. We help out at a wide variety of local organizations, such as St. Vincent de Paul in Fort Atkinson and Mulberry Glen Senior Living Community in Whitewater. We also take up food pantry collections, make door decorations for the residents at local nursing homes, and buy Christmas gifts for families in need. Additionally, many of our members collaborate with our local parish, St. Patrick's, on some of their volunteer projects.
There are also plenty of opportunities to serve within our ministry. The student Mass offered on Sunday nights relies on members of Warhawk Catholic to serve as Sacristans, lectors, musicians, altar servers, and extraordinary ministers of Communion. Additionally, Warhawk Catholic also runs volunteer-based fundraising events like our monthly Cookie Bakes. The proceeds from these events help to subsidize the cost of retreats and trips for our members.
Each year, our organization hosts at least one retreat, giving students the chance to break away from college for a weekend and spend more time with God and each other. Recent retreat destinations include Holy Hill, and St. Francis. However, Warhawk Catholic offers many other chances to be social throughout the year. We often have either the Fall Ball or the Spring Fling (or both!). These are lighthearted dances that let participants dress up a little and enjoy being together as a community.
Our Social Coordinators also plan a wide variety of smaller group activities, from scavenger hunts and bonfires to Sports Nights and celebratory meals before holidays. Throughout the week, many of our members can be found at a table in the front left of the University Center, enjoying the fellowship that comes from studying and socializing together.
These pictures come from a wide variety of Warhawk Catholic's social and service events. These include Christmas parties, dances, the Relay for Life, and watching the Pope's address to Congress.
